My Favorite Random Homeschool Items

-A date stamp. Yes, they can write the date or you can but we love having a date stamp for their workbooks or my teachers guides so I can look back at a glance and see passage of time. Plus it's more fun to stamp! https://amzn.to/459fOr6

-Erasable Pens: Whoever said math can only be done in pencil never had an erasable pen! We go through at least 2-3 packs a year. This is my favorite variety pack. It has just the right amount of colors for us. https://amzn.to/44zzSml

-Sticky note tabs: I love each child having a different color (and a color for me too). I can write down things to correct on that page, vocabulary in the book to look or discuss, reminders for what we read that we can talk about next time (some "scaffolding" to help kids with reading) and so much more! https://a.co/d/0cuIFfgu

-Visual Timer with To Do List: If you have a reluctant homeschooler and a child that has a hard time staying on task, this one is an absolute game changer. They are sand timers for varying times. With one of my kids starting with just one minute on task was a big deal but when they could self monitor with something visual it made a huge difference in their productivity (and my sanity!) After they did a minute for a day or two they graduated to the 2 minute timer for a few days then to the 5 minute and so on. It is also nice for kids that don't need a reinforcement like that but like to manage their time wisely. https://a.co/d/0clwUBx9

-Voice recorder button! These are fun and special! Sometimes I record nice morning messages to my kids. Sometimes they record their answers on this and play them for me. -Erasable highlighters: For younger kids if they miss something-highlight it. Then when they figure out the word-have them erase the highlight. There is power in correcting mistakes and being able to visualize it. Our older kids use it for writing and highlighting important information. So that their books don't end up all highlighted-an erasable highlighter is nice because they can erase not as important stuff. -Hand counters: These are so great for kids learning to count to 100+. We use these instead of hundreds boards sometimes.  I also like to keep them in my purse while we drive or are waiting and the kids like to use them to count things (how many cars drive by, how many people walk by, how many red things they see, etc).  https://amzn.to/4wSt2od

-Digital timer bookmarks: This is a fun gift on the first day of school! They used it so they got in their 20 minutes of independent reading. But sometimes with the older kids we use them so they ONLY take 20 minutes to read and then get back to work! . https://amzn.to/4fFj8jP
