FAQs
Yes, all our curriculum is secular.
Each child is different. If they are showing interest in letters and sounds or asking about wanting to learn to read, it may be time to look into our program.
We recommend starting between the ages of 4-6 years old. However, a child may be ready earlier or later, and that is OK!
We recommend keeping lessons short, and ending while they are still engaged. With very young students we recommend starting with 3 minutes a day and working up to 10 minutes a day.
Absolutely! Many parents teach their children to read using our program exclusively! However, if you would like to use it as a supplement, it will enhance their learning immensely.
Each of our early reader sets comes with a Teaching Guide that will walk you through exactly how simple it is to use the product effectively and experience the magical moment of your child learning to read and excelling at it! We also have video tutorials showing how to use the program here.
We recommend starting handwriting after your child has finished Set 1 of our early reading program.
Often parents choose to teach their child Print or D'Nelian handwriting first. The Print and D'Nealian books are the SAME program just a different font. Choose which font you prefer. The Print version is simpler, and the D'Nealian version makes a smoother transition to cursive. Then move on Cursive. Our Cursive program is designed for students in 1st to 4th grade after finishing the handwriting program. But many parents have seen success starting right with our Cursive program if their child shows interest. Our program breaks cursive down in a child-friendly way.
The spelling program is designed for children that have completed the 3 sets of our early reading program and our handwriting program. So, generally for children ages 7-12. Each child is different and some may be ready earlier or later.
This product is designed to be used in conjunction with Set 2 and Set 3 of our early readers.
The emotional resililence program is designed and is most effective when it is parent-led. The parent reading and discussing the books with the child is best. It can be used with children from ages 5-12. There are goals and discussion questions designed for younger children and older children. The books can be used as advanced readers for more reading practice after the child completes our Early Reading Program.

"Dash into Reading is a parent friendly, simple approach to early reading instructions. The instruction is steeped in research-based principles and appropriately dependent on early childhood literacy development. If a parent or teacher uses the suggestions, steps, and practice activities as prescribed, a child should progress in his or her reading skill effectively.
....For these reasons and more, I highly endorse Amelia Murdock's Dash into Learning program for young novice readers."

"The Teaching Guide Book teaches in very good detail, how to proceed through the lessons and the 10 books. The pairing of the five-step lesson with the story provides for successful interactions with the sight words, letters, sounds, and sound blending. Parents who are motivated to work with their children, would find this program easy to work with and fun! I would recommend this series to a parent who wants to work with their child."
